I’ve found my candidate.
“I did not watch any TV” during his quick getaway this past week to the Virgin Islands, he said. Nor did he get much writing done, as he had said he had hoped; instead he said he enjoyed reading a book, Philip Roth’s latest novel, “Exit Ghost.”

Thanks beth. I am trying to read, but it remains to be seen if that is possible.
Don’t expect there to be any additional posts here, at least not anytime soon, though. Things are still crazy here. One year olds are easier in some ways but no less demanding.

Good to see you back, Andru, if only for a fleeting moment. I do hope you get a chance to start writing again. Even short posts like this one are welcome.
I think Obama has the makings for a truly great leader, if he can manage to sidestep the temptations of the presidential popularity contests, even if I don’t agree with a lot of what he says. I think Clinton would be a disaster.

Thanks. Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with everyone. Between starting a new career and fatherhood, I have had no time or mental space for reading or writing. I do hope to return to both soon, but then the break between terms will soon be over and my time will surely dry up again.
I think Obama could be truly something important for the U.S. Hillary would be more business as usual, and quite possibly, as you say, a disaster (although not necessarily moreso than McCain).
